Conférence Asia Centre : “Korean Security and EU-Korea Relations”, vendredi 25 mai
Asia Centre is pleased to invite you to the following international conference
KOREAN SECURITY DYNAMICS AND THE SUCCESSION PROCESS, THE STAKES FOR THE EU AND ITS POTENTIAL ROLE
FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2012
At Collège des Bernardins,
24 Rue de Poissy, 75005 Paris
ASIA CENTRE
In partnership with the EU-Korea Institute at the Free University of Brussels, Business Europe, the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), University of Duisburg-Essen, Korea University and Yonsei University
Trends are on the move in the Korean peninsula.
Major North-South tensions, a generational succession in the North, a zigzag course on the perennial nuclear and ballistic issues: after an encouraging move with the United States, the DPRK cuts short international expectations by flouting a missile ban. DPRK-Chinese interactions are increasing-but so is the ROK’s regional partnerships, including with Russia. Europeans have a large stake in the nuclear and ballistic proliferation issue, a role to play on multilateral resolution, a human concern as well.
This conference will bring Korean and European participants together to study the available options.
The provisional programme of the event is attached here.
As the number of seats is very limited, you are advised to register before May, 22nd.
To register please send your name, position and organisation by email to : conferences@centreasia.eu (Rozenn Jouannigot/Antoine Bondaz)
Looking forward to welcoming you on May, 25th.
Sincerely,
François Godement
